Merit Theatre Company was founded in 2017 to make a difference in our communities by offering professional-quality, inspiring, family-friendly productions and providing a welcoming environment for performers and patrons of all ages. With a vision to stage stories that speak to the heart and offer hope. Benjamin and Kaitlyn Iocco founded Northern Kentucky Community Theater (NKYCT) when they produced and directed the Kentucky premiere of the new musical, Horizons of Gold. A year later, NKYCT became Merit Theatre Company and an official 501(c)(3) organization.

Though our name changed, our vision did not. We remain committed to striving for excellence in all we do and telling stories that matter. Though based in Northern Kentucky, we work with talent from across the Tri-state area. Currently, summer musicals are held at the Anderson Center in Cincinnati, OH, and concerts are held at Parrish Auditorium in Hamilton, OH.

The Merit Company Orchestra was founded in 2017 to provide beautiful music for Merit’s productions. Bringing together the best musicians to play the finest shows, the Merit Company Orchestra is one of the best pit and concert orchestras in the Midwest! Led by award-winning Conductor and Music Director Benjamin Price, the Merit Company Orchestra is a proud partner of Merit Theatre Company, providing the Tri-State with professional family theatre at its finest.

Benjamin Price (Music Director & Conductor) had a rewarding career as an orchestral conductor before taking a break in 2015 to enter the business world. He has served many years as official Conductor and Music Director of various productions, and has enjoyed over 300 conducting engagements throughout his whirlwind career. He is pleased to come out of retirement to join Merit on a new and exciting journey!
